Why we exist

Malaysian nonprofits increasingly track programmes in applications while finance still closes books in traditional ledgers. Donors and regulators ask for fund accountability that bridges both. Energy Cloud Digital was formed to apply analytics and audit procedures to that gap — without turning charities into software customers.

Origin

The practice began when two former internal auditors who had volunteered on education and health foundations noticed the same pattern: programme dashboards looked healthy while restricted balances in the ledger told a different story. Rather than build another tracking product, we built a review method that treats applications as evidence sources inside a financial accountability engagement.

How we work

  • We start with fund conditions, not with technology preferences.
  • We name owners for every exception before the final briefing.
  • We write for lay trustees first, specialists second.
  • We stay independent of accounting software vendors and grant-platform providers.

People

Our field teams combine nonprofit finance experience with practitioners who know how tracking applications export data. Engagements are led by a named senior reviewer who stays accountable through the board briefing.

Malaysia context

We understand common local structures — company limited by guarantee, societies, foundations, and zakat-linked programmes — and the reporting rhythms that accompany Ministry grants, corporate CSR funds, and international donors. Our office is at Level 8, 19 Jalan Putra, Kuala Lumpur 50350.

Values in practice

Independence over upsell. Clarity over jargon. Evidence over atmosphere. If an engagement needs a statutory auditor or a lawyer, we say so early rather than stretching our remit.
